We all have heard about Google glass but actually very few of us know really about it. So this article is all about that.
Google glass is a device which is made in shape of eyeglasses. There was once a time when people needed phones every time so there came Google glass with a solution. It is more or less like a smartphone but with a hands free format. Using Google glass you can directly communicate with internet via voice commands. Google glass is controlled by the touch-pad located on its side. This touch pad works same as touch screen in smartphones. You can simply swipe it and can control a number of things including phone calls, weather and notifications etc. which will be displayed on screen. It also contains a camera which can record video up to 720p HD clarity! Apart from touch pad you can control it via voice commands. To activate it you need to tap the touch-pad and say OK Google and it will be activated. Then you can simply speak what you want to do like “take the picture”, ”Google when the world war ended” etc. It uses several applications like Google Now, Google Maps, Google+, and Gmail. You can simply ask Google glass to tell the directions of any place and it will be displayed on screen.

What can we do with a Google Glass?
There was an app made called DRCHRONO .it was for patients. Suppose a patient is going to a doctor then with the permission of patient its consultation as well as surgery can be recorded and stored. So a patient will have all his checkups recorded in cloud based storage and can be shared.
There were two Doctors Phil Haslam and Sebestian mafeld who used Google glass in intervention radiology and told it increases the procedure efficiency as well as ensures the safety of user.
It was in 20 June, 2013 when Rafael J. Grossmann used Google glass for the first time during a live surgery. On 21 June 2013 Spanish doctor Pedro Guillen brodcasted a surgery using it. These events were followed by a number of interesting experiments done with Google glass .
Now we started making initiatives so that it could adjust in our life style. One such initiative was breast feeding experiment done in Australia in January 2014 ,there was a tech startup which collaborated with the Australian Breastfeeding Association and they made application for new mothers and this application was named as Google Glass Breastfeeding app trial. Using this application a new mother could view the instructions and in case of any problem she could contact a doctor using Google hangout and doctor can see through the mother’s Google Glass camera and could give a solution.
Its trial was done in April 2014 and participants were really amazed to see such an awesome blend of technology .researchers kept on finding a way to mix it with our lifestyle. There was a training program launched for medical students. It was called MOOC. In this program any medical student can see an operation going on which was recorded when surgeons were actually doing it as surgeons were wearing google glass during operation.
There was a dancer Benjamin Yonattan, he was visually impaired, he wore Google glass and used its technology and he performed in a reality show. This is how technology take us to the another level.
At the end of 2014, when Google glass gained enough popularity there was a course done in university of California named GLASS JOURNALISM which focuses to use it in media.
