How to Build an Electronics Coin toss Circuit (Simplest Way)?
Any game is incomplete without toss or we can say that there are many games in which toss are needed. So in this article we are going to explain you how you can make a circuit which behaves like a real toss. Yes, after reading this article you will be able to make your own electronic coin toss circuit.
Here in Electronic Coin Toss we will consider one LED as HEAD & other LED will be Tail.
Component required for Electronic Coin Toss Circuit:
- A dc power supply of 5V
- Two resistors of 47K ohm
- Two resistors of 470 ohm
- Two resistors of 100 ohm
- One resistor of 1M ohm
- Two ICs (IC NE555, IC 74LS76)
- One transistor (BC 548)
- Two capacitor ( 1uF , 0.1 uF)
- Two LEDs (it will be good if they are of different color one will signify head and other tail)
- Push switch
Construction Electronic Coin Toss Circuit:
Arrange all the components as shown in the circuit. Be careful when you are mounting it on a PCB. If you are doing soldering for the first time take help from an experienced person.
It is good to do all assembly in Bread Board.
Working of Electronic Coin Toss Circuit
In this circuit we are using two ICs, one is NE 555 timer(IC 1) and other is dual JK flip flop(IC 2). IC 1 operates at 10 Hz and its output is inverted by a transistor. Collector of the transistor is connected to pin 1 of IC 2 with the help of switch. IC 2 is always in the toggle mode. Whenever we push the switch output pins of IC 2 toggle their state and LEDs are connected to them so they also toggle (toggling means changing the states from 0 to 1 and 1 to 0 or from active high to active low or vice-versa). Here the frequency of toggling is 10 Hz so we see both the LEDs glowing and this happens when switch is in push state as we remove our hand only one of the LED remains ON indicating either head or tail.
